David Ernest Kay
On March 21, 2025 we said goodbye to David.
He was a man of great heart, quiet strength and endless generosity. Whether offering a warm smile, sharing a story or simply being there when it mattered most, he made a lasting impact on those around him.
Born in Bolton, England he immigrated to Canada at 22 living in Toronto for over 30 years and moved west to be with his daughter and her family. He built a life of love and laughter. His presence was a gift and his memory will always be a source of comfort.
He is survived by his loving wife, Laura, of 19 years, daughter Shonagh Del Col (Jeremy), grandchildren Deklan Gabriel and Keira Gwendoline, brother Michael (Janis) as well as nephew Chris and nieces Carole and Rebecca and their children.
He was predeceased by his parents Ernest (Lilly) Kay.
He will also be fondly remembered and greatly missed by many special friends and extended family.
I love you very much Daddy, I will miss you every single day.
We loved you so much David. Your smile was contagious. Until we meet again. ❤️ Thank you for showing my family and I love and support.
Fondly remembered by Pat and John in Toronto.
As children, David and I lived across the street from each other in Bolton, Lancshire. We met yet again when we came to Toronto.
We enjoyed his occasional phone chats when he moved to Alberta.
With deepest sympathy
