Charles William Bailey
In Loving Memory of Charles Bailey (1959–2025)
On January 25, 2025, the world lost a bright light as Charles Bailey, age 65, passed away peacefully.
Born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan, Charles was the second son of Doug and Rose Bailey, and one of seven children. He grew up surrounded by the love and camaraderie of his five brothers—Dennis, Raymond, Norman, Larry, and Les—and his sister Tammy. Together, they shared countless adventures, laughter, and cherished memories on the wide-open prairies that shaped his warm and generous heart.
Charles carried those values of love and togetherness into adulthood, building a life filled with joy and meaning. After moving to Alberta, he met and married the love of his life, Sherry, an Edmonton native. Together, they created a home full of love, raising their two children, Dawn and Lorne. Charles was a man of unwavering selflessness, always putting his family first and making those around him feel loved and supported.
As a welder, Charles approached his career with passion and artistry. He saw his work not just as a trade, but as an opportunity to create something meaningful with his hands. Outside of work, he was a man of many simple, yet profound, joys. He loved driving without a destination, letting the road guide him; fishing on peaceful lakes; firing up the barbeque for family and friends; cheering on his favorite sports teams; and playing with his beloved pets. Through it all, his infectious laughter filled every room and every heart.
Charles had a remarkable ability to bring people together, and his selfless dedication to his family will never be forgotten by those who were closest to him. Whether it was a quiet moment by the water or the raucous fun of a backyard barbeque, Charles made every gathering feel special. He lived a life of generosity, warmth, and love that will be remembered and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Sherry; his children, Dawn and Lorne; his mom, Rose; his siblings, Dennis, Raymond, Norman, Larry, and Tammy; and countless family members and friends. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the laughter, love, and memories he created.
Rest easy, Charles. May you find endless roads to drive, serene waters to fish, and the warm embrace of those who have gone before you.
Your love and legacy will forever shine bright in our hearts.
Deepest sympathy to Charlie’s family, I will always have wonderful memories of our summers in Indian Head and meeting up with the cousins. So glad I got to meet you Sherry and Dawn. I hope our paths will cross again. Take care.
Charlie will be forever in my heart.
