Catherine Mary Kelly

Catherine Mary Kelly (nee Duke) passed away with family at her side on September 7, 2024 at age 92.

Cathy was predeceased by her beloved husband Don on January 29, 2024, and by her son Robert in 2010. She is survived by her children Dave (Maureen), Maureen Kully (Robert), Janet Harding (Greg), Colin (Sarah), Kevin (Diane), Bill and Michael (Martin), daughter-in-law Yvonne Young, as well as 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Cathy was born near Loreburn, Saskatchewan and grew up in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Alberta. After finishing high school in Rimbey, she trained as a nurse at the Edmonton General Hospital, graduating in 1955. While there, she met Don, and they became inseparable. They married in May 1956.

After living in Arvida, Quebec, Edmonton and Champaign, Illinois, Cathy and Don settled in Edmonton to raise their family. Cathy kept up her nursing skills with her children and at the Misericordia and Grandview Auxiliary hospitals. When Don retired, they built their dream home in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. Throughout their lives, Cathy and Don deeply valued time with family and friendships with colleagues and neighbours.
