Catherine Isabel “Joy” Wolsey

It is with profound sorrow that we the family of Catherine Isabel “Joy” Wolsey, of Edmonton, announce her passing on January 30, 2024, at the age of 83 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Cathy (Tony), Vicky, Mike, Patrick and Danny (Dawn Marie); grandchildren: Darby (Kyle), Addison and Grady; as well as numerous friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Ron; brother Robert, and her parents: Robert Ferguson and Grace Margaret MacDonagh.

Joy lived a life devoted to her children.

A passionate advocate for progressive change, her friendliness knew no bounds. Many who knew her will have had the experience of asking who it was she had been conversing with at such length, only to be told she had just met them for the first time.

Known for her charitable nature, Joy improved the lives of so many. Whether it was volunteering at her children’s schools or her frequent collecting and donating of items to local charities, her unwavering kindness served as an example to friends and family alike. She will be fondly remembered for this generosity, as well as her wisdom, gentle manner and sense of humor.
