Brian Allan Hoeft
It is with great sadness that we announce Brian’s passing. Born in North Battleford Saskatchewan on June 18, 1950 to the late Muriel and Ernst. He will be greatly missed by his wife Karen, sons Scott (Christine) and Michael (Nicole), and grandchildren Archer, Scarlett and Callen. His sister Laurel and brother Gordon.
Growing up in various small towns in Saskatchewan Brian was always involved in sport. After relocating to Edmonton where he met and married Karen he continued his passion for sport particularly hockey, softball, golf & bowling. He was always proud that his boys followed in his footsteps and coached many of their teams. More recently he was able to assist with his grandson’s hockey.
Optician by trade Brian opened his first store in 1979 in Castle Downs and relocated to Namao Centre in 1999. Many of his customers would bring their children and grandchildren for their glasses.
Brian retired in 2018 to concentrate on his golf game and grandchildren. He was so pleased when Archer expressed an interest in golfing and his backwards swing. Of course the best was when Scarlett and Callen came for sleepovers and baked him cookies and cinnamon buns.
Brian lost his battle to cancer on October 6, 2023 after a short illness. He will be greatly missed by all. Much love…
We will be having an informal gathering to celebrate the life of Brian, on November 19, 2023 from 2 - 5 pm at Rosslyn Park Hall 11015 134 Avenue NW, Edmonton
Brian was a wonderful man and friend over the past 25 years. Our thoughts are with the family in their time of sorrow.
