Blanche Marie Jones
With sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Blanche Marie Jones. She was 68 years old. She is survived by her sister, Edith (Kevin) Hanna, nephews Ryan and Ross (Becky) Hanna, niece Kelley Hanna, and great-niece Edison Hanna (and also her favourite dog-niece, Honey). She built many memories with aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss her as well. She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Dorothy Jones, as well as numerous other relatives.
Blanche was born on May 22, 1955 in Lacombe, Alberta. The family moved from Lacombe to Edmonton in 1967. Blanche graduated from M.E. Lazerte High School in 1973 then worked various jobs in data management for her career. She worked for AGLC for over 30 years. She loved visiting relatives and friends throughout Alberta and BC. She enjoyed close friendships over the years, and was welcomed into many of their families. She enjoyed animals, kids, and nature.
Blanche trusted in God to give her strength and peace as she faced the hardships of life. She was very gentle, kind and compassionate, and enjoyed good jokes often. She will be missed by many.
Her funeral will be held on Sunday, May 5 at 3pm at Steele Heights Baptist Church in Edmonton (5812 149 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB).
Her ashes will be laid to rest with her parents at the internment on Tuesday, May 7 at 11:30 am at Evergreen Cemetery (16102 Fort Rd NW, Edmonton, AB).

Dear Edith, Kevin and family I was deeply saddened to hear of Blanche’s sudden passing. I want to send my deepest condolences to all of you.
Blanche and her aunt Erma were very close friends we did many things together,
went to the Camrose Big Valley Jamboree several times. She came to our lake cabin in Lac La Biche, Alberta and spent many weekends together. Blanche and her cousin Sharon joined us at the Merritt Music Festival.
We had a time share in Hawaii and invited Blanche to join us for a vacation which we all enjoyed.
Erma was a Dietician at Henwood Treatment Centre, she employed Blanche and her cousin Sharon to work on the weekends for many years while they were attending high school.
Blanche was a dear friend that came to visit us in Osoyoos many times, she will be missed.

I am deeply saddened to read that Blanche has passed away. Indeed, she was kind, gentle and liked a good joke. I worked with her, at AGLC, for many years. May she RIP and God’s Blessings to you all.
Dear Edith and Kevin and family. We were saddened to hear of Blanche’s passing. Prayers for comfort and strength during the days ahead. I have been reminiscing with mom of the many times we all enjoyed together. May you find comfort in knowing Blanche is in the arms of our Saviour.
