Betty Laxton
With great sadness and much love, we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 27, 2022, at the age of 86 years.
She will be forever remembered by her daughter Linda, sons Gordon and Dan, daughter Deb (Jack) Huber and daughter Karen. Grandchildren; Tamara Lynne, Chad, Brendan, Kortney, Lyndsay, Troy, Kimberly, Luke, Brody, Brooke and Carlee, and great-grandchildren: Ryan, Kyle, Kalen, Charlotte, Max and Remy.
She was predeceased by her husband Peter on February 10, 2021. Peter was 87 years and they had been married for 69 years.
Betty was born and raised in Montreal. The family relocated to Edmonton, Alberta in the early seventies where Peter and Betty were very involved with many different organizations. Betty was a prominent part of the Edmonton Block Parents Association for 50 years plus. She advocated for a safe community, and for many years an avid fundraiser, raising thousands of dollars for the program. Betty had a huge following of friends as she was so kind, loving, and caring and if she could she would have everyone on her Christmas list, her favorite time of the year displayed through the most magical decorations throughout her home.
Predeceased by her parents Mary and Albert Lazerman, brothers Harold and Jack and sisters Shirley, Joan, and Jane, she is survived by her sisters Rose, Sally, Vicky and Judy. Numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to Foyer Lacombe for providing the highest standard of compassionate care, support and comfort as we advance.
Cremation has taken place and as per Betty’s request there will be no funeral.
