It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend, Barry Brenton, on April 8th, 2025, at the age of 66.  Barry was born on August 29th, 1958, in Englee, Newfoundland.  He grew up in Harbour Deep, a small fishing community on the Northern Peninsula, then in 1980 moved to Yellowknife, NWT with his family where they lived for 23 years, later moving to Alberta where he spent the last 20 years.

Barry loved his family and every moment he had with them. He made the most of every moment, bringing laughter and smiles to every event. His love of fishing began as a young boy in Harbour Deep, and continued into Yellowknife where he spent a lot of time with family and friends at the cabin, he and his brother Mac built on Narcisse Lake. In Alberta Barry spent many days out on the frozen lake with his grandchildren, teaching them all the tips and tricks he had learnt throughout the years.

Although Barry had left Nfld, his heart remained. He continually went back to his home with Wavey and the boys, keeping traditions and relationships with family and friends there strong. In later years him and Wavey fulfilled yet another dream of building a home on the ocean in Jacksons arm. Another place that will forever hold a small piece of Barry. No matter where Barry was, he loved the great outdoors; camping, boating, quadding, ski-dooing, right down to just puttering around his acreage; inventing, organizing and building. At a very young age Barry began teaching his sons, Bradley & Ryan everything he knew, engaging them in every adventure and project. Because of Barry both boys have grown up with a multitude of skills, building homes and families. They learned laughter, to enjoy the small moments, how to love and be loved, how to be supportive husbands and loving fathers. His legacy and love will live on forever through them and his grandchildren.

Barry is survived by his wife Wavey; children, Bradley (Christa), Ryan (Catherine); grandchildren Landon, Liam, Gage, Zachary, Isabella, Halle, and Jackson; brothers, Wallace (Leanne), Malcolm (Carol), Elias, Cyril (Kelly), and Gilbert (Tammy); Sister in-laws; Joan (Ted Elvey), Barbara (Barry Ropson), and Brenda (Brian Brown), as well as many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and friends.  Predeceased by parents Jerry and Martha Brenton; brothers Kenneth and Chesley; in-laws Ernest and Isabella Cassell.
