It is with sadness that his family announce the passing of Arnold Elia Frederick Piragoff, QC, of Edmonton, Alberta, on April 10, aged 83.
Born in The Pas, Manitoba, son of Frederick Elia and Jean Mary (nee Galer) Piragoff, educated at the Universities of Winnipeg and Manitoba (B.A., LL.B).
Known as "The Silver Fox", Arnold will be remembered fondly by the many lives that he touched during his long and legendary career fighting for justice as a Crown Attorney and in private practice in the legal systems of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
He is survived by his four children, Heath, Ian, Aryn, and Kara, his grandson Xavier, and his brothers, Ronald and Donald.
A private memorial will be held at a future date. In order to be notified of the time and place, persons wishing to attend are requested to send their contact details to: APRSVP@mail2arnold.com
Rest In Peace Dad. I love you.
My condolences to Kara, Aryn and the rest of the family. Arnold was an amazing person, he will be missed.
Mr. Piragoff did two things in particular for me that helped change my life for the better. For that I will be eternally grateful. He helped me in my time of need for a legal matter. And he brought in to this world one of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever had the honour to befriend. Thank you. To the family; I’m so sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss Aryn, Kara and rest of the family. May he RIP.
Condolences to Arnold’s family and friends, and Godspeed to that better place which awaits. Having been a lawyer in Edmonton for many years, I had the privilege of knowing “The Silver Fox”, a well known, highly respected, and formidable personage in the legal community. I continue to maintain contact with his family. And yes I’d like to be informed and attend the memorial to pay my respects.
