Antonio da Silva Nascimento
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio da Silva Nascimento, age 92, of Edmonton, AB, on the morning of January 28, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Teresa, sons Antonio and Rui (Linda), grandchildren Michael (Sarah), Dylan (Amanda), Danielle, Garrett, and Jessica (Adam), great-grandchild Theodore, sister Manuela, nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother Francelina, brother Ernesto, and sister Maria Rosa.
Antonio was born and raised in Unhais da Serra, Portugal, and immigrated to Canada in 1960. While he worked hard, he cherished spending quality time with his family, being an active part of his local Portuguese community, and cheering loudly as a devoted fan of the Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, and his favourite of all, Benfica.
Even though he is no longer with us, his warmth and kindness will forever resonate through the many lives he touched.
He will be missed more than words can describe.

Rest in peace Senhor Nascimento.
I got to know Mr. Nascimento when i was 15 years old playing for Luso stars. He loved the club and he did all he could to make it a successful team. He gave up alot of his time away from his family to make Luso a championship team and he achieved that many times during his years involved. I will always remember him as a kind human being. Mr. Nascimento you will be missed. It’s with sadness that I send my sincere condolences to the Nascimento family and friends and may God give you strength to get through this difficult time.
