"Do not be afraid, O very precious man. May you have peace." Daniel 10:19

Allan is survived by his loving wife Sandra (Sandy) nee Norrington and daughter Tanis.
Siblings: Ronald (Marguerite), Leonard (Emily, daughter Tala and Kurtis Bateman), Evelyn (Pierre Thibodeau)
Baptism Date: December 30, 1961
Wedding Date: December 30, 1978

Allan was born in the rural town of Willingdon, Alberta. His parents, Mike and Eva were hard working and loving parents. Dad sold Watkins products on the road and mom worked in the only coffee shop in town which they owned and she made the best apple pie in town.. The years went by and the family happily expanded with the birth of Ron and Len. For business reasons the family moved to Valleyview, then Peace River. This is where Eva met Anne Archibald, who was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and who became a life-long friend. A serious study of the Bible began and Eva made all three boys sit in and pay attention.
Finally, in 1957, their long awaited baby sister Evelyn was born. So the Goryniuk clan bought a house and settled in Edmonton. The bible studies continued. With the fine help of Bud Drew and Joe Zazula, all three boys took the truth seriously and have remained faithful until this very day.
Now back to Allan who was a typical teenager with 3 goals in life. Number one: get a good job. Number two: get a good car. Number three: get a good wife. However, in 1963 Al attended a special
convention in Pasadena, California. and it made a life changing impact on him. The call was out: we need pioneers! So right then and there, Al decided that he wanted to try to pioneer.
So when he arrived home, he quit his full-time job and started to look for part-time work to support his pioneering. He started vacation pioneering, which is now known as auxiliary pioneering, but soon joined the ranks of regular pioneers. Jehovah blessed him with the perfect pioneer job, driving a school bus for deaf and mute children. Another blessing also was having a pioneer partner, Art Marquardt. Allan and Art were buddies always laughing and having a good time.
In 1968 both Allan and Art received an invitation from the Branch to serve as special pioneers in Northern Quebec. They joined two other pioneer brothers and faced many challenges, such as living on a very tight budget and learning French. However they were joyful as Jehovah used them to help many sincere French Canadians learn the truth.
After 8 years in Quebec, Allan was re-assigned to Northern Alberta to the French community of Falher. Much joy was to be had as many from the Honey Capital of Canada responded to the sweet message of the truth.
At the Edmonton convention that year, Allan was re-acquainted with a pioneer sister whom he had met years ago in Quebec. After that reunion it did not take long for Al and Sandy to become life long sweeties. They were blessed to have two weddings. The first was in the Kingdom Hall at Toronto Bethel and then followed by a big Ukrainian reception in Edmonton.
Allan and Sandy always strived to live a simple life. As Daniel 12:12 says: "Happy is the one who keeps in expectation." We always thought Armageddon was just around the corner, but we endeavor to remain faithful to the end, whenever that end may be. If we all remain faithful we will see each other again. And as Allan loved to say, "the best is yet to come!"
Daniel 12:13 concludes: "You will rest, but you will stand up for your lot at the end of the days."

  1. Susan and I send our deepest condolences. He was a friend and whenever we got together, which regrettably was never very often, we always enjoyed a laugh or two. It is always so sad when death steals away a husband, a father and a brother but we know what Jehovah has in mind – a resurrection as mentioned in Job 14:14, 15. The call will be made and Allan will stand up and we will greet him with smiles, tears of joy and unending hugs and joy. We say that because this is a a promise from our loving God, Jehovah. That is our source of hope and comfort.
    Jehovah’s blessing my friends.

  3. Dear Sandy and the Goryniuk Family
Ken and I are sending you our deepest sympathy at this very difficult time. Unfortunately in this system of things death touches us all. But thanks to Jehovah and Jesus we can find comfort in the scriptures and all the wonderful promises of a resurrection . Christian Love Ken and Deborah Lakusta
