    • Dad, I never thought that we would lose you this soon. It was only a few months ago that we were all having a good time at the lake and that you were picking me up crying in an abandoned parking lot… because thats what you do. You were the best dad anyone could ask for! You were always there for all of us. I love you so much! At times I thought you were the only man I could ever rely on. You are the reason I am into rock music because I took very fond to that music from our long car drives to BC as a child and remember how you used to pack us all in the van to pick mom up from work late at night as kids and play AC/DC Thunderstruck. You would drive us to dance and theatre classes school all the time well into our 20s lol till we got our own cars and license. Im going to miss your ball busting and the long walks we would go on and the stories you would tell me of your youth in the 70s/80s to which I envied and which I grew up in. I hope you are looking down on us and guiding all of us… I hope your having a blast with grandma and the dogs and your friends and im glad that your no longer suffering but the world isn’t fair you should still be here with us….. but I hope we will get to meet again one day in the afterlife.

  14. My condolences to the whole Payne family on the passing of Al.
Gone too soon but will be remembered in the hearts of his family.

  15. Uncle Al,

I never imagined having to write this; at least not quite so soon. Some great memories we have don’t we? Brings a smile to my face every time!

You smearing a finger full of butter down the front of Wendy’s glasses; Steve The Penguin; The City Worker slags; Tim Horton’s; The Seadoo; The Lake Showdown (the people who were there know exactly what I’m talking about ha ha!); and just the lake period. You making fun of Dad when he blamed his sinuses for drinking too much rye lol. And of course….you filling me in on the family gossip (because I was always the last to know lol). You were a great Uncle, Dad and Father. It was a blessing to have you in our lives.

We know you fought as hard as you could against cancer. We also know that some things are beyond our control. You are at peace now with Gram & your dogs. We love and miss you more than you’ll ever know. Until we meet again…

Auntie Shawna, Kellie, Bobbi, Shawn & Carrie,

No words may heal the pain that you carry in your heart. We are with you during this difficult time and always. Much love xoxoxoxo
