Caroline Ann Theiss
August 22, 1933 – August 29, 2014
It is with deep sadness but also joyful gladness for the gift of her life that we announce the peaceful passing of Carol Theiss after a brief illness.
She is survived by her son Les (Debbie) Theiss, daughter Candy (Dave) McDonald, daughter Rene (Glenn) Smyth, grandchildren Chance (Rachel) McDonald, Levi (Katie) Theiss, Angela Theiss (Dennis), Sam Smyth, and great-grandchildren Kaiden and Kyleigh McDonald. She leaves behind two sisters, Sally Argall and Deanna Kernaghan. Carol was predeceased by her parents Charles Nutt and Clara Pahara, her brother Aldon Griffiths and two sisters Ester Talman and Decima Soloway. She had numerous nieces and nephews who will miss Aunty Carol but will keep her memory alive in their hearts.
Carol was an entrepreneur who made many friends and had numerous acquaintances. Along with her family they held a special place in her heart and will miss her caring kindness and generosity. She worked very hard during her life, overcame huge challenges and took pride in a job well done. Carol baked the best banana bread in town and had a booming business supplying family and customers from Edmonton to Fort McMurray with the delicious loaves. She was an expert seamstress who took great pride in creating amazing quilts, pyjama sets, clothing and virtually anything else that could be made from fabric, thread and adornments. There was no challenge she wouldn’t take on.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their valiant efforts, caring, help and kindness during Carol’s last weeks.
