Well Mom, it’s been almost a year since you decided your time on Earth with us was complete.
In this past year, we have reflected on memories of each calendar occasion, each milestone, and each passing season. We have had quiet moments in beautiful places remembering you.
The ways you made us laugh, feel loved, and brought joy and consideration have carried us through your absence but still, you are missed.
I see little messages from you regularly in the moments of my everyday life. I see the things you said, in print. “It all comes out in the wash.” was the latest message from you, written on my laundry room wall, as if you were reminding me, that even in this pandemic, and bitter cold snap, it will all work itself out just like a stain in the laundry.
We love you Mom. That never changes. I will always feel gratitude for how you have made my life wonderful. Your grandbabies share memories of you all of the time. You’re gone, but not forgotten.
Oh, and Dad (Ed) and Jay miss you loads too! Pet Tango, Vegas, Jinx, and Bruno for us please and give my Mom a big hug (bear style) from me too.
Dearest Elsie, to say that you are very much missed,is comedic! Your hubby. and my favourite cousin “Anjoe” often have marathon telephone conversations. We have cried together, many times and even occasionally laughed together, about some insane “stunts “ that the Rudy brothers pulled on their naive city cousins, when we spending summers at the farm! We got sweet revenge when they came to visit. These annual summer vacations are very dear to us, Elsie, you know that my sister Pauline, joined her dear Paul shortly before you. were called by the angels. They were the only couple, besides yourself and Eddy that were really symbiotic! Two peas in a pod, literally! You were blessed to have had almost sixty happy years together! Not just as a marital relationship, but you were true blue buddies! Whether you were camping together,or donating money to River Cree,or making Borscht, you always did everything together! Grief is a very personal journey, and there’s no time line to it. That Eddy is grieving for you,is very understandable! How many times, how many times have I heard him say “ I miss my Elsie soo much, because we did everything together!! What a beautiful tribute. He, as well as your beautiful kids, honour your memory not only o special occasions, but every day.Elsie, you know that my niece and the Rudy boys second cousin,Leanore was called to her forever home in May! Far too young and just six months after her Mother’s passing! Elsie,I see the pain in your loved ones eyes, and his loss of weight. The kids and his brothers have been stellar in including him in all kinds of things.Loneliness is not a good thing! He is thinking of getting a little dog,the bed is too big for him! I hope that we will all be together someday, but for the meantime,Eddy and I will have our lengthy conversations and when I’m on the phone, for two hours or so,Joe no longer has to ask me,who I was on the phone with! If my cuz ,sleeps a little better after our little talks. I feel better! Just wondering if Leanore has told you about how Jerry and Eddy treated us,at the Rudy farm and our annual summer vacations! Leanore’s husband Marty is going through a bad time too.We don’t say “Good Bye “around here,eh! OH WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD!
Auntie Elsie, It has been a year since you have been gone. So many memories come to mind when I see your picture. Weekends at the farm, camping, skiing in Jasper, hanging out at your house during the summers and Christmas’s at Babas. Thank you for being a wonderful part of my life. You are deeply loved and missed. ❤️
