July 12, 1952 – June 19, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Suzanne Gareau-Kubicki on June 19, 2020, with family by her side. Suzanne will be deeply missed and remembered by her loving husband of 36 years, Andy, her caring daughter Caroline and her extended family in central Canada. Suzanne will also be sadly missed by her many friends whom she considered family.

With open arms and a welcoming smile, Suzanne loved to entertain and filled her family home with laughter, music and joy. Her love for and commitment to French language education and the Francophonie inspired a long and successful career. She was a dedicated traveller, choral singer, yoga instructor, knitter and gourmet and book club aficionado. Her warmth and joie de vivre will live on in the many happy memories that we share.

Given our current context, a small private funeral will be held in the coming days. A celebration of Suzanne’s life will be planned for a later date.

  1. So shocked and saddened. I met Suzanne on a yoga retreat in Italy a few years ago and immediately loved her. She was a ray of light and kindness. Sending you love and support.

  2. My deepest sympathy to Caroline and family. She will be sadly missed.
    Danielle S-Carriere

Merci!

  8. Heartfelt condolences to Andy, Caroline and Suzanne’s Central Canada relatives.

  45. It is very sad to hear about Suzanne’s passing. Deepest condolences to you and your family. I am a descendant of the
Azarie Gareau family that settled in Bellevue Saskatchewan in the late 1800’s. He was one of the first settlers of the area. Azarie and his wife had a large family and from them came many descendants. I am wondering if Suzanne was related to this line of Gareau and if she was, who was her father.
Thank you and many the heartfelt memories of Suzanne comfort you.
