Eric William Hagglund
2 January 1942 – 8 April 2020
It is with great sadness we announce that Eric William Hagglund passed away peacefully at the Venta Care Facility after struggling with a lengthy illness.
Eric is survived by Gwen, his caring wife of forty-four years. He is also fondly remembered by two sisters: Myrtle Scarrow and her family of Barrie, Ontario and Edie (Mert) Dauncey and their family of Orillia, Ontario. He also leaves his daughter Sheila Manweiler and her children and grandchildren, as well as members of the Henderson and Spooner families. His nieces and nephews remember him for the fun times they shared throughout the years.
At this time there will be no funeral services due to the existing pandemic.
Eric would want to be remembered for his unconditional acceptance of others, his wonderful sense of humour and his ability to make others feel at ease. He always remained close to his roots, especially his feelings for family and friends from Hazelton, BC where he was raised.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Salvation Army, a charity which was always close to Eric’s heart.
I am so sorry for your loss. I was very fortunate to have worked with Eric, he was very generous with his knowledge. I recall Eric as outgoing, kind and a true friend. We lost a good one.
