In lieu of flowers, we invite you to consider supporting an organization of your choice for people in crisis and addictions.
This is a message to Cheri, Ronnie’s Mum. The world is the way it is, and we have all created it. I loved Ronnie too, so briefly, now thinking about those years. There isn’t anything to say. “We are stardust, we are golden, we are billion year old carbon”. Dad, Holly, Terry are now gone, and as I get older, I think about the connections, and the moments of Life that we all ‘did’ together. It’s just silly to think that there could be a ‘condolence’ for our lives. Ronnie lived his life as we all live our lives. God grant me the serenity to accept that we aren’t in control of ‘everything’, that things come out of nowhere and make us stronger , or don’t. What is death really, taken apart from the ‘left behind’ perspective. If you believe in Existence, then it’s just a marker. And I’ve said way too much, excuse me.
I am so very sorry for you and your Family’s loss. Ron and I were engaged at one point when he lived in Calgary. My heart goes out to all of you and my hope it that you will take solace in the memories and cherish those moments that make you smile.
Death is not the end
but the beginning
of a metamorphosis.
For matter is never destroyed,
only transformed
and rearranged –
often more perfectly.
Witness how in the moment of the caterpillar’s death
the beauty of the butterfly is born
and released from the prison of the cocoon
it flies free.
