Giles Duncan Collings
We are saddened to announce the passing of Giles Duncan Collings (46). He died in hospital after a hard battle with cancer and then pneumonia. He was surrounded by family and a couple close friends as he passed.
Giles was a loving husband, devoted father, and a wonderful man loved by many. He enriched the lives of everyone he knew and met, and has left lasting memories with all of us.
He is survived by daughter Aurelia, wife Arinna and sister Faith.
He will be greatly missed, but will hold a space in all our hearts forever. “Dad I love you so much all the time”, love from Aurelia. We all love you Giles. Rest in peace
Although I never met Giles I’ve heard so many wonderful compliments about him from several mutual friends. I wish I had met him. My heart goes out to Arinna, Aurelia, Faith and Jeanette. It must be such a challenging time for you all. Remember, grief only exists where love lived first and there is no timeline for grief.
Beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul.
Arinna and Aurelia, Deepest condolences on the passing of Giles, your husband and father. Giles was not someone I knew well, though over many years, however, it took only a few moments to know he was a quality human being. We are all poorer for his loss to our lives. My heart goes out to both of you. I wish you every comfort at this time. I keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I am burning a candle for Giles, which I think of as a light to guide him.
Peace be with you. Love, Dawn
He taught my children in Guildford and was a wonderful man, I am very sad to hear this news and send love to you all, Lisa Cunningham xxxxx
Mr Collings you were an amazing p.e teacher & you will be sadly missed by all of your students!! Thinking of all of your family & sending my deepest sympathy r.i.p xx
I know we dont know each other Arianna but I’ve thought long about writing something here and I wanted to offer my condolences to you and your daughter. I met giles many many years ago in dublin Ireland whilst he was still in uni. We met up a few times the week he was in dublinand then kept in touch for a while until it dwindled which was only natural as we were so young. I’ve often thought of him as he was a pure gent and a lovely person. For some reason I thought of him about 2 or 3 weeks ago and looked him up only to find he had passed on. I’m truly sorry for your loss and the world has lost a truly lovely person. I will keep you all in my thoughts. Take care. Joanne
So sad! Giles was my friend. He was gentle man, great soccer player, a true warrior.
Just found out today, his birthday, that he had passed.
Wish I had known sooner. So sad!
