Walter Litousky
On Saturday January 26, 2019, Walter Litousky passed away at the age of 80.
Mourning his loss is his wife Elizabeth and many loving family members.
He is predeceased by his parents.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
Wally loved life: he loved to fish and fly and anything to do with water.
Judo was a passion and he was honoured to be inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame.

A great lover of Judo, gone now but will never be forgotten. I will miss that smiling face. May he rest in peace.
Wally was a great sensei with a lot of terrific methods to teach judo. Attending his classes at Greisbach helped me understand the bigger picture of judo.
Hearing tales of his adventures in Germany and seeing his eyes light up at judo tournaments as he took in the action were always special times too. His passion and lively disposition will be missed for sure!
Wally will be missed by many. His passion for, and shared love of, the sport of Judo over many years, benefitted folks literally across the globe.

Wally’s love for judo was contagious. He inspired countless judoka and entertained us with his many stories. We will miss you.
I always enjoyed refereeing at judo tournaments with Wally. He was a great friend, and his positive outlook was always appreciated.
It was our pleasure to get to know Wally during our visits at Kipness Centre for Veterans. We especially enjoyed his music and listening to his stories about his life experiences while in the military and his Judo accomplishments.
We shall miss him dearly, rest in peace our friend.
Our heartfelt condolences to Liz, and to the rest of Wally’s family. He was a friend and a mentor, a great story-teller, and will be sorely missed by all of us who knew him
Wally will be greatly missed. If it weren’t for him, my life would have turned out completely different. We not only shared a love of judo but we shared a birthday.
Wally was an amazing and diverse man. He told amazing stories about his travels around the world with the military and with judo. He played amazing music (I only heard him on the piano but I could only imagine how he played the accordion), made great power points corresponding with his stories, was a great referee, and an even better sensei. Whenever you were around him, you could feel a radiant joy about his past and present accomplishments. Wally you will be missed by many and will forever be in our hearts.

I studied Judo with Sensei Wally in Germany 1971/74. I still have my judo diplomas.
He will be missed. A great man.
