It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Henry Bosse, born in Camp Creek, Alberta, on September 8, 1939. George is lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Doris Rita (Winters) Bosse.  A love story that began with George tying Doris’s skates at the Edmonton Garden, where George was working.  George loved being in a hockey arena.

George leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and community. He is survived by his son Wayne and daughter-in-law Marla, and their children: son Reid and daughter Tori (husband Luke), who are expecting George’s first great-grandchild. George is also survived by his daughter Janice and son-in-law Colin, and their children: Shayla (Connor) and Dylan (Morgan).

George served the Province of Alberta with pride, dedicating 35 years to the Provincial Government, where he was a typewriter technician and then later at the computer centre downtown Edmonton. Outside of work, George was actively involved in his community. He coached and refereed hockey, coached Little League, and was a strong presence in the Beverly Heights Community for many years.  George and Doris were instrumental in starting the Beverly Heights Variety Show, a volunteer comedy event that has brought the community together and raised community funds for 54 years.

Family time was precious to George.  Many early family years were weekends spent at Skeleton Lake and later years at Alberta Beach, where memories were made with family and friends that will be cherished forever.

George was known for his quick wit. His legacy of kindness, humor, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Whether cheering from the rink sidelines, sharing stories at the lake camp fire, or helping a friend or family, George's presence brought people together with smiles and laughter.

George will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

A private celebration of life will be held to celebrate the life of George on Tuesday May 6, at 2:00PM.
