Ryszard Szwed

Ryszard was predeceased by his parents, Jozef and Wladyslawa Szwed. He leaves behind his first love Wieslawa Szwed, and his four children, Magdalena Szwed, Justyna Szwed, Daughter Joanna McKay and son-in-law Talby McKay and Adam Szwed. Ryszard was a proud, loving, funny, and always making Dziadzius faces to his 5 grandchildren, Dominic, Zoe, Abby, Sierra and Oden. Ryszard was survived by his two brothers, Jurek and Alek, his sister Jolanta, and his 6 nieces and nephews, and many extended family and friends.

At the age of 19, Ryszard entered the Polish Military as a Private and 3 years later completed his time as a Corporal. After living in Italy for a few years, Ryszard was able to provide a life for his wife and daughters in Canada in 1992. With the hopes and dreams of a new immigrant to Canada, Ryszard used his skills as a welder to buy a home and have their son Adam.

Ryszard enjoyed the game of soccer, taking his children fishing and of course his love for pigeon racing.

Ryszard was always one for family functions, a good time, a smiling face, with dancing feet ready to dance. He never missed a chance to have a libation under the right circumstances. He loved his family and loved where he lived, but he always had dreams of returning to Poland to show his family the country he truly loved.
