Teresa (Terry) Loretta Patterson
Teresa (Terry) Loretta Patterson (nee Bederski) passed away suddenly on March 7, 2025 in her 91st year. She is lovingly remembered and will be missed every day by her children John (Freda) Patterson, Daniel Patterson, Jenny Stoltz, Susan Patterson; her grandchildren John James, Katryna, Arianna, Jenna, Daniel, Robin and Zack; and her great grandchildren Emma and Spencer, Avery and Asher, and baby Jack. She was pre-deceased by her husband John (Jack) Melville Patterson (1996) and her daughter Joan Patterson (2013). She is with them now.
Our hearts are heavy for losing her, but her life was long and full. She was a pillar of strength and the definition of unconditional love. She was always prepared to give and to help anyone in her family, and her greatest joy was to be with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had boundless energy to do little things to make them feel special and always was supportive.
She loved and believed in God and we’ve no doubt she is with Him now.
She will also be missed by her dear friends Bill and Maria Milner, who we are very grateful to for their help along the way, and who were a very important part of her life for many years.
Originally from Renfrew, Ontario (the daughter of Joseph and Eva Bederski), she lived many years in the Niagara peninsula in Ontario until 1977 before moving to Calgary, then onward to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island for 20 years, before returning to Calgary for the last 25 years of her life, dividing her time between her children and the places she loved. She was fortunate to have diverse work and life experiences and also some travel to far away places, to snorkel and pat a nurse shark, or sit on an elephant’s knee, to explore, and also to experience different cultures, always willing and keen to try something new. She loved the outdoors, swimming and walking in the woods, puttering in the yard or just sitting in the sunshine. And she loved and missed her dog Buddy, and puppies of all ages.
There will be no service by request. Memorial donations in her memory can be made to The War Amps or CNIB.
