Hilde Rausch
With deep thankfulness for her life we announce with sadness that Hilde Rausch passed away peacefully in Edmonton with her three children and granddaughter at her side on December 11, 2018.
She was born in Germany on August 23, 1946, a beloved daughter of Eduard and Berta Scherer.
She is survived by: son Mark and daughter-in-law Michelle, and their children Ella and Charlie; son Michael; daughter Stefanie and son-in-law Michael, and their child Sienna; sisters Erna, Lisa and Ingrid (Sjoert); and brother Richard (Edelgard). She was predeceased by brother Erich, sister Wilma, and brothers-in-law Dieter and Henry.
Her family and her faith were of upmost importance to her. A lover of nature who enjoyed spending time in her garden, the long-time grade four teacher in Lethbridge touched the lives of many students and people in the community with her warmth, generosity, service to others, and sincerity.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hilde’s favourite charity, Lutheran World Relief, and/or give the gift of blood; the family will be forever grateful for the countless transfusions that sustained Hilde in her final years.

I taught with Hilde at Fleetwood. She was a lovely lady who loved to laugh. My condolences to the family.
I had the pleasure of working with Hilde at Fleetwood Bawden elementary school and she also taught my children. She was very intelligent, kind and generous and I enjoyed a friendship with her until she moved to Edmonton. I am sad to hear of her passing. She will be missed. My heart felt condolences to her family whom she loved dearly.
I taught with Hilde at Fleetwood Bawden for many years. I enjoyed my friendship with Hilde and our talks about teaching and life. Hilde was a very special person who was so kind and thoughtful toward others. I was so sad to hear about Hilde’s passing and I know she will be deeply missed. My heartfelt

Thinking of Hilde’s family with love and prayers at the sad news of her death. Hilde was a beloved and respected teacher at Fleetwood Bawden. She was so proud of and devoted to her children and grandchildren. Her warmth, quiet sense of humour, loyalty and compassion made her friendship a priceless gift. I take comfort as I know her family does, in the fact that Hilde had a deep unwavering faith in Christ. May you Rest In Peace, Dear Hilde, and rise again in glory.
Hilda was my next door neighbor at Fleetwood Bawden School. There are so many good memories of her. She was such a kind hearted soul. So friendly. Always willing to share and always with a smile on her face. The passing of such a wonderful lady was much too soon.

I taught with Hilde for several years at Fleetwood and my daughter, Lisa, had the pleasure of being in her Grade Four class. Hilde was a wonderful caring person. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this very sad time.
We are deeply saddened to hear of Hilde’s passing. She was a wonderful woman who inspired and instilled the love of learning in children. Hilde was a respected and valued staff member and will be missed by all who knew her.
I was very sad to hear of Hilde’s passing. I taught with Hilde at Fleetwood-Bawden elementary school in Lethbridge and knew her through her sister, Ingrid. Hilde was always smiling–and a wonderful teacher, mom and sister. My condolences to all of her family.

I am so sorry to hear of your sister’s passing, Ingrid. I do remember visiting with her in the early days in Lethbridge, I particularly remember her laugh, which was infectious! I continue to be a plasma donor for life, and my heart goes out to you and your family in this time of loss.
