My mother Emmy, was truly an authentic sincere soul, who was morally supportive to all of our family members and even friends and strangers in our community. Emmy embraced life to its fullest and never took anything for granted. She was a consistent worker, once employed by North West Tent and Awning for 33 years up until her love for my ailing father Mario who had 2 double by pass surgeries that forced her to retire out of her love for dad while staying by his side when he applied for early retirement after 23 years at Edmonton Telephones working as a lineman and installer, back in 1992. She was an amazing peace maker who was notable for deescalating arguments and fights about to erupt, between disputing employees at her factory at North West Tent and Awning. She inevitably became the talk of her factory by admirable co-workers and also admired for her compassion in hearing out their differences with one another. She was a true friend to everyone in that sense of the word. I can’t think of anyone who knew my mother personally, ever having to say anything bad about her. She was truly unconditional of her treatment to the many people she’s touched spiritually and emotionally. My mother was the world to all of our family members. She made family her first priority, which defined, who she really was when it came to humility. One neighbor, Mrs. Dorothy who lived across the street from my mother, once described my mother Emmy in these simple words, and said, “John, I’ve never seen anyone like her. Your mothers amazing, she’s not a Saint, but an Angel! That Angel now is looking down at us, which encourages the optimistic thought that the greatest gift that awaits us, is the Heavenly Father and my mother Emmy, when we finally get to meet her in another time and in another place. There’s no greater gift in this life, that can replace what our mother once gave us. Rest in Peace Mother. Emmy will be loved and missed, by those who were touched spiritually by her love and kindness-Amen. From Son John Zapantis
