Florence Eugenie Magnan (Vallee)
(1931- 2018)
Magnan, Florence Eugénie (née Vallée)
We are sad to bid “adieu” to our beloved Florence, who passed away peacefully at home, with her loved ones by her side, on Saturday, November 17, 2018.
Florence grew up in Beaumont, Alberta, where she met her soulmate and husband of 70 years, Jeff (Joffre). They subsequently settled in Edmonton, where they raised their family.
Florence was a loving, supportive matriarch who generously shared her many skills with family and friends.
She was an exceptional cook, potter, clothes designer and seamstress. Until her stroke a few years ago, Florence kept fit by square and round dancing, swimming and cross-country skiing.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jeff, and their sons, Dan (Bonnie) and Wil (Laurie); their grandchildren Michelle (Cam) McIvor, Brent, Leah and Renée Magnan, and great-grandchildren, Hudson and Marlowe McIvor; her siblings Henri (Marguerite) Vallée and Marie-Anna (Jean) Lafrance and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Florence was predeceased by her parents, Wilfrid and Alma Vallée, and siblings Richard, Adrien, Emile, Léon Vallée and foster brother John Zolkivski.

Rest in peace Florence. You were a true lady.
I am so sorry to hear about Florence’s passing.
I spent many mornings in the pool swimming laps next to her. I’ll never forget when I told her I was pregnant with my first daughter how she just lit up with joy and gave me a big hug in congratulations.
She was an absolutely lovely soul.
Our deepest condolences, Wil on the loss of your Mom. We always greatly miss our loved ones, especially when they have been around for a long time.
