Fred was born November 22nd, 1944 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital here in Edmonton and died there November 9th, 2024.

He is survived by wife Nancy, his first wife Dianne Wallace and son James, daughter in law Kathleen and grandchildren Courtney, Hailey and David.

He was predeceased by his baby son, parents Frieda and Stanley and brother Bryan.

Fred had a very inquisitive mind, was an intellect, creative and artistic. He was intense but very generous and good hearted. Fred had many jobs; he was trained as a draftsman, worked as a tower climber in the north, worked in the oil patch, Loved to talk to people; so was great in sales, selling cars, chemicals and real estate. He was a carpenter on numerous movie sets and one special project was in the Dracula series which was shot in Luxembourg. I am sure the odd shot of tequila was drunk on this shoot! His last job was Stage Carpenter at the Citadel for many years, a job he dearly loved. He built “Bert the Sailboat” in Los Angeles and hauled Bert all the way back to Edmonton. I am sure there are many stories around that sailboat!

He loved to read mysteries and science fiction and there were always scientific journals or woodworking magazines near him at all times. Fred took many ‘sabbaticals’ from work in order to travel to many exotic places. In fact, he and Nancy witnessed the collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989. He loved Malta, Kathmandu, Vietnam, the Cook Islands and the list goes on.

We found his baseball glove and ball recently and he loved watching baseball games especially the Blue Jays! Most of all he loved golfing and there were numerous golf trips and golf escapades! But even golfing at Rundle Park would cure the itch.

Your time on earth was well spent Fred and you made an impact on many.

Rest in Peace.
