It is with sadness that we share the news that Wayne Leo Huculak of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away at the age of 77 years.  Wayne was born on May 24, 1947, to Leo and Viola Huculak, in Edmonton at the General Hospital. Wayne grew up with five siblings - three sisters and two brothers. In 1965, he graduated from O’Leary High School. Before even finishing school, Wayne started his career of choice in carpentry. Working for the family business, Leo & Sons, Wayne worked alongside his dad, Leo, and his 2 brothers. Together they built many homes and garages.   Wayne married Judy Schweifler in 1969. Together, they had 2 children, Lonnie and Sharlette.  He married Hazel Farquharson in 1978 with whom they had 2 sons, Cory and James.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Leo & Viola Huculak and his son, Lonnie. He is survived by his sisters, Leona (Henry) Heuver, Marylou (Mark) Halkyard, and Debbie (Dwight) Buchanan, brothers Larry (Jean) and Jim, children & grandchildren, Sharlette, Cory (Anika & Brielle), and Jamie (Ariana), and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend mass at Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples, 10821 96 Street, Edmonton, on Saturday, November 2nd at 9:00 am. Following mass, a celebration of Wayne’s life will be held in the church basement. Everyone is invited to join for fellowship and refreshments.

  3. I would like to pass along my condolences to all of the family on the recent passing of Wayne. I haven’t seen Wayne in many years however I have nothing but fond memories of visiting with him at Auntie Viola”s house which was absolutely a second home to me .I have nothing but wonderful memories of being in that household and growing up around all my cousins. Every single member of Leo and Viola‘s children are special cousins to all of my family. Thinking of you all rest in peace Wayne god bless all the rest of your family.
