Macarthur, Elsie Louise (1929-2024)
It is with great sadness that we announce that Elsie passed away peacefully October 24, 2024, with family by her side.
She was predeceased by her husband Dave Murray in 1967, and Jack Macarthur in 1989. She leaves behind four sisters, Hilda, Ericka, Loretta, and Evelyn and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Elsie lived in Red Deer Alberta for many years where she worked at the Red Deer Regional Hospital as an LPN and enjoyed volunteering in the hospital gift shop for many years. She moved to St. Albert Alberta in 2015 and loved being closer to family for visits and celebrations.
A Celebration of Elsie’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday November 2, 2024, at All Saints Lutheran Church 13850-119A Street NW, Edmonton Alberta.
We would like to especially thank the doctors and nurses of the Westview Health Centre Palliative Care Unit in Stony Plain Alberta. They are truly a wonderful group of people for all their compassion and care while keeping Elsie comfortable in her last days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Elsie was our neighbour in Red Deer for several years. She was a wonderful person, a good friend, and the perfect neighbour. We will remember her kindness, thoughtfulness, and sharp wit. It was a blessing to know her. Our condolences to Elsie’s family.
