Javier Antonio Sarango of Parkland County, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024 at the age of 80.

Born in Lima, Peru on June 13, 1944, Javier had a love of airplanes, animals and his family. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and was a long standing member of his local model airplane club. Javier practiced veterinarian science for many years and continued his service in the poultry field into his retirement. Javier was a much-loved member of our community and had a sense of humor that put people at ease. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and fellowship with his community.

Javier will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Annemarie; children Dario (Gloria), Alejandro, and Ricardo (Leah); 9 grandchildren: Nathaniel, Nicholas, Anna, Emilio, Antonio, Dimitrio, Cleo, Oscar, and Julia; great-grandchild Dean; siblings Judith, Jaime and Amparo; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Francisco & parents Pedro & Elba Sarango.

The family is grateful for the kindness and care given to Javier at Westview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice. Those who are not able to attend in person may join us via livestream.

  5. My Dad, Don and Javier knew each other while members of the Stony Plain model airplane club. They met over their love of airplanes at Kelly Field, and also became good friends. My Dad always spoke of Javier’s kindness and good company. He also enjoyed the odd Spanish lesson Javier gave him!
    Both Javier and Annemarie have been good friends & support to my Mom before and after my Dad’s passing.
    Sending our condolences to all of Javier’s family. He will be missed.
    It’ll always be a “Cub Day” from now on.
