With sadness we announce the passing of Gale Hulbert on November 10, 2018.
Gale was born on June 29, 1927 in Montreal, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserves after completing high school. He then earned a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from McGill University in 1948.
After graduation Dad moved to Calgary where he met and married Hazel McCaskie on September 22, 1950.
Mom and Dad moved to Edmonton in November of 1955, where they lived the rest of their lives.
Gale was predeceased by his wives, Hazel and Barbara, his son in law Miguel and daughter Linda.
He is survived by his children, Rick (Susan) and Nancy; Rick and Susan’s children Mary (Francois and great grand daughter Leah) and Michael (Susie), son in law Norman Trueblood, step daughters Joanne and Michelle as well as their families.
Gale was a consummate salesman and manager. He was a leader in the business forms pricing industry for many years, but more than that he was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and husband.
He was a great provider, and friend and was an unimpeachable role model. He loved and was loved. He lived a full life and will be missed.
Rest in peace Dad.

RIP Gale. It was great to know you and see what a wonderful Dad and Grandad you were. My sympathies to the whole family. Liz Kingan
I was Gale’s Moore counterpart in Calgary for a few years in the 1960s, and we had a few ‘joint’ customers, eg U of A and U of C, and later I became an official with one of his major customers, the Gov’t of Alberta.
Gale will either be laughing or cursing at a “typo” in his ‘obit’ in the Edm Journal, an error that would have NEVER got by him. It states, ” He was a leader in the business forms ‘PRICING’ industry…..”. The correct word is “PRINTING”. The ‘wrong’ word implies that our employer used Gale to “fix” prices……..
In recent years I saw him occasionally at NASA golf tournaments.
Sending prayers for peace to all the Hulbert family. So many accomplishments, so much strength, so many years of memories. Your father inspired others with his courage, his smiles, and his stories. Hoping your hearts heal with time. Keep those memories close.
Growing up with Rick I remember Gale and Hazel’s welcoming and warm home. Gale was a great Dad and I’m glad to hear he also had the opportunity be a great grandfather. Our thoughts are with you Rick and your whole family. Paul and Lorie Grundy
We have lost a good friend. Our condolences to Rick and other members of the family. Pete and”Tex” Johnson.Pete
Gale had an amazing and long life, knowing that many people loved and cared about him. Working at Moore Business Forms with Gale for over six years I learned what being a gentleman salesman was. Prayers and blessings to you Rick, your sister, and Gale’s extended family.
Robyn and I extend our most sincere condolences. Although we did not have the good fortune to have met your dad, we can gather from the words you have composed in his honour that he was a remarkable individual and a great dad. Thinking of you at this time. Joe and Robyn Roberts
We were surprised and deeply saddened to learn of Gales passing. Hazel and Gale were dear friends of our parents and they shared a great friendship for many years. Gale remained a good friend to our parents, and we experienced and appreciated his witt, his laughter, his company. Rest in peace Gale and thank you for all the years we were able to share with you.
My sincere condolences to Gale’s family. I worked at Moore Business Forms in the mid 70’s for a couple of years as a receptionist (also training in sales) but this short time of knowing Gale and the staff made a big difference in my life. Gale believed in me when I really needed a boost and my life changed for the better because of it. He really valued all those working with him and sought what was best for them! Blessings to his family…RIP Sir.
