Davide Castellarin

With hearts full of both sorrow and deep gratitude, we share the peaceful passing of Davide Castellarin on July 5, 2024.

Born on a crisp autumn day, October 22, 1933, in the quaint town of San Giovanni di Casarsa, Italy, Davide was the cherished eldest child of Marino and Cristante Esterina Castellarin. His life's journey led him to become a cornerstone in both his family and his community.

A man of remarkable work ethic and dedication, Davide joined Boilermakers Lodge 146, where he became not just a member but a pillar in the Alberta oil industry. His commitment and skill as a union boilermaker spanned an impressive five decades, marking him as a respected and esteemed figure in his field.

Davide's heart found its true match in Marcella, with whom he shared a loving and enduring marriage of over fifty years. Together, they nurtured and raised their son, Dwayne, instilling in him the values of family, hard work, and compassion. As a grandfather, Davide's joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Bella and Kai. His eyes would light up listening to Bella's operatic singing, a reflection of his deep appreciation for music and arts, and he found great pleasure in sharing his treasured record collection with Kai, passing on his love for timeless melodies.

While we mourn Davide's passing, we also celebrate a life of over ninety years that was richly lived and loved. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and enduring family bonds. Though he is preceded in death by his dear parents and his brother Walter, his spirit continues to live on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Marcella, his son, Dwayne, his adored grandchildren, Bella and Kai, and a close-knit extended family in Italy.

Davide's life was a testament to the power of dedication, love, and family. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary man, we hold close the memories and lessons he imparted. His presence will forever be missed but his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
