Robin Christine (Tobin) Dickson

Robin Christine (Tobin) Dickson, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt passed away on June 03, 2024, at the age of 84 years. She was surrounded by her loving family at the Royal Alexandra hospital in Edmonton. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, William Dickson; her sons Brian and wife Judy, Steve and wife Sheila; daughter Judy (Dickson) Jones and husband Ronald.
Robin was the proud grandmother to Zachery, Brendan, Jacey, Sandy, Ryan and Sean; along with step grandchildren Heather and husband Grant; as well as a great-grandmother to Rose and Lily. Family was a big part of Robin’s life and that was all due to the loving marriage to her husband William (Bill). The two of them did everything together.

Robin was born in Ireland on May 22, 1940, and immigrated to Canada with her sister, Pat. She met her husband, an Irish lad from the north, while they worked together and grew their relationship from there. They started off on their adventure travelling across the country to settle and grow the family. Life presented challenges, as it always does, but they were resilient.

Robin was the heart of the family, she was there through thick and thin and always had a shoulder to cry on, words of advice to give and of course be able to hand out discipline when needed.

Robin was involved in all aspects of her children’s activities, especially her daughters where she became a Girl Guide leader so that Judy was able to join. The bond to each of her children was strong.

With each personal encounter that Robin made she was revered as a kind and gentle person, easy to talk to and carry on a conversation with.
Robin is going to be deeply missed by all who came into contact with her and considered her a friend, which is a rather long list. Once you were accepted into the fold you were there for life.

The family will be having a private ceremony to disperse her ashes as requested with a memorial / celebration of life to following in the near future.
