Winnifred Kathleen Tidsbury
Family and friends celebrate the life and legacy of Winnifred Kathleen Tidsbury at 1 PM on May 15, 2024 at Capilano Christian Assembly (9333 50 Street NW Edmonton). A small less formal interment will occur at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery (5420 - 106 St NW Edmonton) at 10 AM.
Kay Tidsbury passed away into the presence of her Lord and Saviour as she slept, on the morning of May 5, 2024. She almost made it to her 104th birthday! She had been in the home and care of her oldest daughter, Judy Warren, until the very last days, when she was admitted to the hospice at Norwood Center. Her family was with her as she stepped from this world into the next. She was predeceased by her beloved husband William Harold Tidsbury. Kay was born on June 26, 1920 in Edmonton, Alberta. She married her husband Bill during the Second World War on November 14, 1942. They both committed their lives to Jesus Christ near the end of the war and then in 1952 made the decision to dedicate their lives to reach out to the people of Honduras with the love of Jesus. They raised their 5 children (Judy, Pat (Don) Kerr, Elaine, Bill and Becky (Conrad) Lechelt) in that country. They retired to Canada in 1987 and ministered in the Courtney/Comox area on Vancouver Island. Kay was a gracious lady who never enjoyed being in the limelight. She was quietly courageous and achieved great impacts in many lives with little fanfare. She was a faithful friend and became a mentor to many. She had a deep love for the Plymouth Brethren assemblies - and she fellowshipped with that circle of churches all her Christian life. She leaves behind her much loved children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. We will honour her legacy.
