Emma, what can I possibly say to you to ease your heartache? Please know you & your family are in my thoughts. Sadly, as the years passed I lost touch with my brother but I was blessed and honored to reconnect with him (and you) a few summers back in Newfoundland. Even though time made a space between us, when we met again, Ron managed to bridge that gap and it was as if we never missed a step. In essence, that was your husband, as if to say, let’s not focus on was we missed, let’s embrace right here & now. He was the kindest, most gentle, most giving (freely) & most loving person we were blessed to know. I wish I knew him more. My fond memories of childhood, Ron letting me play “Hey Jude” on the record player over and over when I was home from school sick at our family home, camping with you, showing up for dinner (just at the right time), huddled with Helen & Sandra in the closet reading the new magazine they may have just received, I could go on and on … hiding in the backseat when you & Ron went on dates (I don’t remember that but there is evidence apparently). These are the tender moments that transcend time & space and that we keep forever lovingly in our hearts. His infectious laugh and broad grin from cheek to cheek when I last saw him on the rock is what I will keep forever close. Thank you for loving him and for caring for him and raising such a beautiful family. It is in your family that he lives on. He was a wonderful person whom everyone loved. That is part of his legacy. Is there anything greater? I think not. God speed Ron. We love you and you will be missed.
Emma and family,
So sad to hear of Ron’s illness and passing. It was truly a pleasure to meet both of you with Gerri a few summers back and get to spend some time with you. I’m thinking of you in this time of such great sorrow and loss.
Hi. So sorry for your loss. He was one of my heroes and a man I always looked up to and admired .ill always remember this guy as a man who could do anything he needed to do . Whatever he did he did it with skill and pride and always nailed it to a tee He will remain in our memory forever. Rest easy cousin. I salute you.
Dear Emma and Family,
It is with a heavy heart that we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of our beloved brother Ron. His recent visit to Humber Valley remains a cherished memory, filled with moments that highlighted his extraordinary compassion and willingness to help.
Ron’s presence brought a unique warmth and kindness wherever he went. His ability to lend a hand, be it through a comforting word or practical assistance, was a testament to his generous spirit. He had a special way of making everyone around him feel valued and supported.
His contributions, both big and small, have left an indelible mark on our lives. Ron was not just a brother to us; he was a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration. His absence creates a void that will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
As we navigate through this difficult time, let us hold on to the beautiful memories and the lessons he taught us. Ron’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will continue to live on in our hearts.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Jim, Beth and Maddison
