So thankful to my brother Ruthven who was saved before his Mom and Dad and his siblings. I know he prayed for our salvation and God truly answered his prayer. When he migrated to Canada our home was empty as the Bible said, he was as the salt of the earth that gave our home its flavour. He was faithful and very serious about his faith in God.I remember my mom crying for days and on my parents anniversary, October 1967, she remembered him attending a church on the wharf in San Fernando. I too was affected by his absence so I went along with my parents and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. From thence the other siblings followed and gave their hearts to the Lord.I was impressed by his depth in the Word of God and can recall some sessions he did when he came to Trinidad. )ne that stood out was “Jesus mas our Shepherd and the different titles he shared eg The Good Shepherd” and the different attributes of a shepherd. As the first sibling to pass, it was a lot to deal with, but God in His wisdom does everything well, as the song says “We”ll understand it better by and by.”To Annette my sister in law, nieces, nephew ,grand nephews and nieces, Nephew in law Tim May God comfort you all and guide you all through this time of grief and sorrow. But we do not sorrow as though we have no hope. His promises are true and He will keep you all until you see him again. He will be greatly missed by us all.
Annette, Children and Grandchildren; I pray that the Joy of the Lord be your strength, and our Comforter the Holy Spirit will comfort you and all members of the family at this time. Junior was a loving brother, a friend and adviser to us all. His love for God and his commitment to the things of God are what he lived for. Love you my brother.
A beautiful servant of our Lord and a beautiful man. Our condolences to the family, especially Annette.
To Annette and all the family,
Our hearts were saddened to hear of your loss, but we know Ruthven is now in the joyous presence of Jesus. With great gratitude, we remember how you and Ruthven welcomed and showed us so much kindness and hospitality when we arrived in Edmonton in 1999. We have wonderful memories of ministry with you both at Northgate while we were there. May the same loving arms of Jesus who welcomed Ruthven into heaven, now surround you and your family with comfort and peace in the days to come. Psalm 116: 15 – “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”
Steve and I and our family are so sorry to hear of your great loss. Ruthven was a great man of God and a good family man. Unfortunately we were unaware of his passing until a week later. Please accept our sincerest condolences and know you are being upheld by much prayer. Hugs for each of you.
