Lorne (Harvey) Dunn
On November 12, 2023, Lorne (Harvey) Dunn passed away peacefully at age 81. Harvey will be remembered and missed by his sons Scott (Lise) of St Albert, and Kirby (Chris) of Grande Prairie along with his grandchildren, Erica, Kelly (Ryan), Liam, and Alexandra. He is also survived by his brothers Garnet and Grant (Valerie) and his sister Bev (Ken) Klemenz as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Marguerite and Lorne Dunn, his wife Sharon, and his brother Dwayne.
Harvey left the family farm in Southern Saskatchewan after starting his own family and in the early days worked for Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. He relocated his family to Alberta in the mid-70s where he had a successful career in the energy sector in Manning and Grande Prairie. After retiring, Harvey and Sharon relocated to a warmer climate in Oliver, BC.
He enjoyed curling and golfing and made many friends while being part of the clubs he belonged to over the years. He followed the Toronto Blue Jays and was quite knowledgeable about the game - he always seemed to know what pitch was coming! Harvey always enjoyed visits from his family and in 2022 decided to move back to Alberta to be closer to family.
We would like to thank the Palliative Care Team as well as Dr Chang and nurses at the Edmonton General Hospice who provided exceptional care.
At Harvey’s request, no service will be held and he will be laid to rest in Ogema, Saskatchewan at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Harvey’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada https://kidney.ca/Get-Involved/Make-a-Gift/In-Memory-Tribute-Donations or to a charity
of your choice.
