Cornelius Edward Gerbrandt
On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, Cornelius Edward Gerbrandt passed away peacefully at the age of 80 years. Ed is survived by his wife Wendy, son; Ian (Dalyn), daughter; Melanie (Jordan), and grandchildren; Alia, Brianna, and Hunter, and many nieces and nephews.
Ed was born to John and Dorothy Gerbrandt in Steinbach, Manitoba and he grew up in a busy home of nine bothers and sisters. He met and married the love of his life, Wendy, and they had 57 wonderful years together in Brandon, Winnipeg, and Edmonton.
Husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend; he was all of these. Ed was a devoted husband and a loving father. Ed was always the provider and believed in hard work and service to others. He was a successful salesman and business owner. He loved music, golf, softball, cooking and travelling. Life was filled with many family vacations and lots of laughs, songs, and love.
Ed was known for his natural ability with technology and electronics. He seemed to always be repairing a device and was often the man behind the camera capturing memories of family occasions and church events. He was especially proud of his service and fellowship with the church community at Zion Baptist Church of Kensington in Edmonton.
Ed was known for his kindness, humility, and humour. We will forever miss his smile and feel his absence. We carry him in our hearts forever.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Zion Baptist Church of Kensington in Edmonton and is open to all who would like to attend.

Our condolences to the Gerbrandt family in this difficult time, as we know you will miss Ed immensely as devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Our prayers to you all, for Wendy, his children and grandchildren, all of whom he loved with his whole heart. As part of the Zion church family, we can attest to Ed’s devotion and love for his family and his willing service for others. We have a great appreciation for who Ed was, how he loved, and how he served.
