Royden William Martin Greig
It is with unbelievable sadness that the family of Royden Greig announce his sudden passing on May 21st, 2023 at the age of 65.
He will be forever remembered by his loving wife Karen (nee Shunamon), children Lindsey (Greg), Jenna (Nicholas), and Tyler (Elisia), grandchildren Owen and Quinn, as well as his sister Arlyn. He was predeceased by his parents Roy and Esther, and sister Royetta.
Royden was born in Atikokan, Ontario and lived in Saskatoon before moving to Fort McMurray at the age of six. It was there he met Karen and started his family and career as an automotive mechanic. Royden, Karen, and the girls moved to Wetaskiwin, Alberta in 1989 where they welcomed Tyler to the clan one year later. An avid Scottish history enthusiast, Royden taught his children to be proud of their MacGregor heritage.
At his request, a formal service will not be held. An informal gathering may be held by the family at a later date.
Karen and the kids would like to thank the staff and doctors at the Wetaskiwin Hospital, particularly those in Unit 35 and in the emergency department, Wetaskiwin EMS, Dr. Jeffery, the team at University of Alberta Hospital Emergency, and the STARS crew.
Memorial donations may be directed to STARS at give.stars.ca.
