It is with great sadness that the family of Brody Jake Prechel announce his passing. Brody was born in Calgary, AB. On September 20th, 1996 and passed away in Edmonton, AB. On January 8th, 2023.

Brody moved to Edmonton, AB. when he was 4 years old. He played football for 8 years, winning 3 city championships, he always enjoyed watching and playing sports. Brody played basketball for 7 years, however, the game he loved most was lacrosse. Which he played for 7 years and got the chance to play in the U.S.A. twice. The biggest highlight of that trip was getting to visit Times Square in New York City. He made multiple trips to the U.S.A. to watch NBA and NFL games and enjoyed trying new restaurants when he got the chance.

Brody loved to smoke and grill food, you never knew what was going to come off the smoker as he was always trying something new.

He leaves behind to mourn his passing: two sets of grandparents; uncle and aunt and 2 cousins; his mother and father and one brother.

Brody will be forever loved and always missed in our lives.

  1. I don’t know what to say. Brody was a joy to coach and always had a smile and a joke. He was a light and the world seems a little bit darker for this loss.

  2. So very sorry to hear of your loss. I never did get to meet the boys but have always heard great things about them via the grandparents. Take care of yourselves and hold on to the many wonderful memories you’ve made together

  3. I wish I had the right words for you Prechel family . Rob and I can make ourselves available when you’re ready .
Brody I loved watching you play lacrosse .

  4. We were saddened to hear of Brody’s passing, and our thoughts are with you and your family. Our heartfelt condolences

  5. You will always remain the 4th Manning son. We love you buddy…and we’re always here for you, Rick, Cindy and Cody.

  6. Cindy, Rick, & Cody, my heart breaks for you. I knew Brody only through community football and basketball – not too well, but I remember well he was clever and funny and sweet. I’m so, so sorry for your profound loss.

  7. Brody was my bestfriend. I meet Brody in kindergarten and was officially my first and bestfriend. We grew up together as children then to teenagers. From there he tought me football and lacrosse. We played lacrosse together competitively. We won trophies together in the U.S plus Canada. He was my protector. And I cared for him just like my own little brothers. And he treated them like his own little brothers as well as involved in the little brothers bulling. We shared our good days and bad days together as adults. I was always knew I could relay on Brody to pull my ass out of the fire when I said or was going to do something stupid. He knew I had is back as well. He was always the forth manning son. And Cindy,Rick and Cody always treated me like an honorary Prechel. The adventures Brody and I shared over the last 22 years will live with me in my memories for ever. But Brody will never leave my mind amd heart and I know he will protect me even more so now. I WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE TO BEST LIFE FOR THE BOTH OF US FROM THIS DAY ON.

  8. I am at a loss for words. Those years we watched the kids play lacrosse are some of my favorite memories. I’ve often think of all the kids? Especially when we are talking about some of the trips. I am so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you all
