Darin Steckler
It is with tremendous sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Darin Steckler, age 53, on January 2, 2018.
Darin will be lovingly remembered by his life soulmate Nadine, parents Bob and Judy, brother Joey (Shelly) and sister Alixe Tayler.
Darin endeared himself socially, enjoyed wit and humour, loved his cat companions and truly had a kind heart for others.
To honour Darin’s wishes, no services are to be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hervey Foundation for Cats, www.herveycats.com or to the Edmonton Humane Society, www.edmontonhumanesociety.com in Darin’s name to celebrate his life.
Aunt Judy and Uncle Bob, our hearts break for you. Very worst thing that could ever happen, losing a beloved child. I’m sorry to say I never met Darin and Mom says she doesn’t really remember him but that doesn’t stop us from sharing your crushing grief. Please also extend our condolences to Nadine, Joey and Alixe. Mom says to tell you she will be praying for you all. Love, Randy and Linda Bullock and Susan Steckler.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Nadine and to Darin’s family on this very sad news ! Strong Family

This gentle man was so very kind to both Jaimie and I
and I feel that is such a rare quality these days. No wonder
he was called back so soon!!
We are very sorry to hear of Darin’s passing. He was a great neighbor with a wonderful sense of humor. We enjoyed having he and Nadine across the street from us. Our deepest condolences to Nadine and all of the Steckler family.
Darin was a kind, generous and forgiving man. His default reaction was to view things positively and not negatively. Enjoyed many conversations about life with Darin. Wonderful person who I will miss. Bernie

To all of Darin’s family, his mom and dad, brother and sister and all those closest to him who loved him so much. Words are inadequate, they cannot express the sorrow that is felt, but words are all we have. We are so very, very sorry. God bless you all.
Our love and prayers go out to you Nadine, and to all of Darin’s family members. Darin was always so special to Heather and I, and we are sure going to miss him greatly. Dear Bob and Judy and Family. So sorry to hear that Darin passed away. I will always remember Darin’s bright smile and cheery voice asking Diane to come and play in our back yard! Memories for ever. My thoughts are with you.
Nadine, Uncle Bob, Aunt Judy and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Darin’s passing. Such a loss for all. May you feel peace knowing that he is with our heavenly Father. May your happy memories bring you through this difficult time.
My name is Kirsten Jones, and Darin was a friend of mine. I met him through his cousin Dave here in Toronto, and he became a big supporter of my music career. Every time I toured in Alberta, he had my band and I stay with him. He even had my parents stay with him once! Not only that, he would cook us steaks and “smokies” every time we came through! He was such a generous person, and a positive person. I did also meet his immediate family once – he was so sweet and generous that he brought me by to meet the family. He was so interested in music and animation when I knew him – he had a creative side always trying to burst through. He also tried to help musicians in the area to get dental care – something that is not always easy to fit in the budget for struggling artists. Although we haven’t been in touch in a few years, I will miss his generous soul and sweetness. I am so sorry for those closest to Darin – he will be missed by anyone who crossed his path.
I am so very Sad to hear of Darin’s Passing. He was a very kind man, had a big heart, loved his family and Cats very much. Even though we are cousins I only got to know with him a few years back when he offered to help me finish some work in my basement. I was fortunate enough to spend that time with him and I will never forget what an unselfish kind generous person he was. My thoughts and prayers go out to Aunt Judy and Uncle Bob and all those who loved him.
Our deepest sympathies to my sister Nadine and the Steckler family. Darin will be sadly missed and remembered by the boys and I for his upbeat and positive outlook on life and for the love, respect and support he gave my sister throughout the years. Thank you Darin.
I am so so sorry … My deepest condolences to you all, Judy, Bob, Joey and Alixe ….I send my love … I was so happy to catch up with Darin in Vancouver not so long ago ….Diane

Bob, Judy, and family,
It has been years since we barbecued steaks in your backyard but I remember it like it was yesterday. Although years and distance separate us I truely feel your loss. Please accept My sicerest condolences.
Dear Aunt Judy,Uncle Bob ,Family and Friends,
Words seem so unfair at this time to express the sadness our family feels for the loss of our cousin Darin . Please accept our deepest condolences our Love and Hugs to you all .
I only knew Darin a short time but he was very very kind and very talented. As a fellow musician and artist he inspired me to find the time to keep pursuing my art even though I was a very busy single mum. His support came at a time I needed that boost of confidence. Heck he even helped me move once! He had a great sense of humour and an eye for subtle beauty. Every ripple of kindness moves outwards. Darin definitely sent much kindness into the world. Many deep condolences to all of you at this time.
