Douglas Henry Warring
April 18, 1936 – November 9, 2017
Doug, the son of Louise Marie Demers and John Henry Warring, was born and raised in Gibbons, Alberta. He moved to Edmonton as a young man and worked and lived here for over 60 years. He loved to travel and meet new people and in his later years took great pleasure in living downtown, beside Edmonton’s river valley, where he took daily walks.
Doug will be lovingly remembered by his brother Louis Warring (Molly), his niece Cindy Hanson (Gordon) and their children and grandchildren; Katie, Duncan, McKenna and Reese Milroy and Maggie, Dylan, Cooper and Ella Stanley. He was particularly fond of the children of the family who always brought a smile to his face.
A Memorial Gathering will be arranged at a later date. To send an online message of condolence please go to www.trinityfuneralhome.ca

Growing up, Uncle Doug was pretty much just my Dad’s younger brother….it wasn’t until I was an adult with children of my own that I got to know him in a different way. He was a kind and gentle man, happy to listen to the view points of others while occasionally expressing his own opinion. Going through his papers after his passing, I discovered that there was yet another person who I didn’t know as well as I thought that I did. He traveled extensively….meeting people and maintaining correspondences with many of them for years. There were so many photos …….. pictures of him surfing (who knew that he surfed), ocean fishing, wandering beaches……busy beaches like Waikiki and quieter tropical stretches of sand. …..pictures of family dinners and celebrations and numerous shots celebrities taken on his many trips to Hollywood!
But my favorite memories of him will always be much closer to home. It will be the rather surprised and then happy smile that he would have on his face when one of my Grandchildren would run up and hug him or climb up into his lap! Cindy
I’m so sad of finding Doug’s passing. I was waiting for his Kind visit this February. After several calls and Emails not answered I was worry. I just want to let you know that I will truly miss him.
I met Doug here in Hollywood California, I work at the hotel he preferred to stay, through his trips we started a friendship and we kept in touch in many ways. We have this plan for the first time to go together with my family to enjoy the city as our personal guest. He was looking forward to it as well as I. We had long conversations and his wonderful sense of humor was something that I just to look forward at his visits. He will be truly missed. Hollywood has another star, only now is on the Sky!
