Erik Thomas Bech Hansen

With deep sorrow and much love, we announce the passing of Erik Thomas Bech Hansen on September 4, 2022.

Erik will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his sister Ellen (Ray), brother Niels Peters, nephew Trent (Nadine), cousins Elizabeth (Albert) and Beck. He will also be deeply missed but not forgotten by his longtime friends: Gerry, Stella (Eugene) and their sons Slavek and Greg, and Sandy.  Erik was predeceased by his brother Christian.

Erik was born and grew up in Tommerby, Denmark. He served in the Danish Merchant Marines for 3 years, and then moved to Canada in 1972 where he had a long career with Canadian National Railways as a machinist before retiring.  Erik was fond of animals, especially his cats Misty, Oliver, and Molly.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Erik’s Life will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Funeral Chapel, 10530-116 Street, Edmonton.
