Jody Allison Peters Snoeck Henkemans
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jody. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her parents Madeleine and Gerhard, and her brother Michael and sisters Emily and Brandy along with her extended family of Indro Roy and Barbara Bodmer and their children, and Eric and Sandy Snoeck Henkemans and their children.
Her brother Dirk predeceased her.
Jody was very active in soccer during her school years and continued to love watching her favourite soccer teams (especially Man City). She was an excellent hiker and walked many kilometres on the long, multi-day hikes with her family. Jody started her life-long love of books when she taught herself to read at the age of 4. She read voraciously, was a keen scrabble player and liked any kind of word game. Despite her medical problems, she always remained kind and thoughtful and bore her burdens stoically and with a generous dose of sarcasm, dark humour and wit. She delighted in the companionship of Pomme her cat, spending time with her family and crafting.
We would like to thank her physicians, especially Dr. A. Kohler and Dr L Litwinson for their care over the years.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in her memory to the Edmonton Humane Society.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 10, from 3:00PM - 5:00PM at the Westmount Community League, 10978 127 Street NW, Edmonton Alberta.
My condolences to Jody’s friends and family. I will miss our candid conversations about soccer, and Stranger Things. Her humor, zest for life, and love for her family. May she rest peacefully. Until we meet again my friend
I met Jody when she went to Sunderland University – I was blessed to know her. She was an overcomer and even though she had occasional struggles and heartache she was so kind and hilarious. She charmed both my parents who found her hilarious and fun.
I was lucky to be able to maintain a friendship with her via social media and was able to enjoy her posts and memes. I am so sad she is gone. I loved her very much and am so grateful she was my friend.
I am so so sorry for the loss of her and send you all my love and thoughts at this time. xxxx
