Fred McKinney
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Fred McKinney of Edmonton, Alberta, on June 25, 2022.
Fred (Freddie) was born September 13, 1936, in Belfast, Northern Ireland to Hugh and Margaret McKinney and was the second youngest of seven children. He immigrated to Canada June 1972 and settled in west Edmonton, where he and Marie raised their four children.
Fred was pre-deceased by four siblings; his loving wife Marie of 58 years; his daughter Jane (Darcy); granddaughter-in-law Davinia (Braedan).
He is survived by his son Kieran; daughter Suzanne (James, Kiera and Aidan); son John (Sandra, Kye (Leah, Theo), Kirstyn and Jenna); and grandson Braedan.
He also leaves to mourn his sisters Annie and Eileen, and brother Billy of N. Ireland, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He will be deeply missed. There will be a celebration of life for Fred and Jane on July 10 @1:00 pm at Belmead Community Hall (9109-182 Street, Edmonton). All are welcome,
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edmonton Humane Society.
