William Edward (Ed) Dawson
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, William Edward (Ed) Dawson of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on February 4, 2022 at the age of 84.
He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 63 years Deanna (Dee), children Debbie (Dan) Turenne, Wade (Colleen) Dawson, Karen Dawson, grandchildren, Jesse (Andrea) Turenne, Nicole (Corey) Graham, Madison (Milton) Buford, Mia (Danielle) Pojar, Drew (Lauren) Pojar, and great grandchildren Aiden and Colton Turenne, Isleigh and Wyatt Buford, Kendra, Alexis and Caleb Pojar, Avery, Kyla and Parker Pojar. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Vera Dawson, his brother Sandy Dawson, and his beloved Grannie Foreman.
Ed worked for Edmonton Telephones for 36 years, retiring in 1992. He spent his retirement doing the things he loved most; camping, travelling, golfing, and spending time with this family. In his early years, he spent time playing hockey, baseball, and other recreational sports.
Since June 2021, his health took a turn for the worse, and we had many people who helped care for him.
We especially want to thank the staff at Kipnes Centre for Veterans, and at Chartwell Griesbach Seniors Residence for allowing us to be with him in his final journey.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
Don and I wish to express our sincere condolences to all of you. Ed was a big part of our lives and we shared many happy memories. Camping, fishing, house parties and camaraderie come to mind. We had some very good times together and will miss you Ed.
Our thoughts prayers are with your family, great memories of a great guy whom I had the opportunity to work with on and of the field.
To the family of Ed Dawson,
I wish to express my sincere condolences. I was just made aware of Ed crossing over. I am the daughter of Bim Foreman, son of Grannie Foreman. Auntie Vera was so loving and kept in contact with us, then Sandy continued that after she passed. It appears my cousin Ed left a wonderful legacy behind in his family. You are in my prayers.
Mary McGarry (nee Foreman)
