NOT SURE IF THIS IS ‘MY BEST FRIEND DAVID KIRK’ FROM OTTAWA WHO WORKED FOR BLEAKER TV ??
I Just came across Obituary of my best friend from Ottawa. Dave & I got into so much mischief together, that I still tell tales of him to my Grand children.
I have to tell you, I have tears in my eyes, but I can hear his quick wit and it tickles me.
We were walking aLong on Bronson Ave with 2 young ladies. Stopped for a red light, when a car pulled up and stopped beside us full of Greasers (Guys who thought they were cool). as we were getting ready to cross the street, some guy yelled out to the lady David was with. Hey! You want a date? David yelled back. I don’t go out with boys. We all Laught so hard. In those days, know-one was out of the closet. You had to be there.
We snuck into Ottawa Roughrider football games, circuses, Rodeos, Wrestling, climbed The Chaudier falls, jumping on and off trains, swimming in hogs back, black bridge, the locks. Just so many wild & crazy fun things we did as Kids.
