Christopher Douglas Jones
The family is very saddened to announce the passing of Chris Jones.
He was born in North Battleford and lived in Saskatoon, Shawinigan and Calgary before returning to Saskatoon where he attended Holy Cross High School and forged life-long friendships. Chris moved to Edmonton in his early twenties where he lived for the remainder of his life.
Chris was a talented athlete in his youth and he had been an avid kayaker, dirt biker and skateboarder. He had a keen wit and was a master of cheesy puns. He was a storyteller, weaving his daily life events into tall tales. He had a passion for cars and an eye for a deal so he liked nothing better than to find a vehicle that was half the price he thought it was worth. One of Chris’ favourite activities was to go for long drives and he especially enjoyed taking his grandparents along on these adventures.
He loved his cat and he was very connected to his sister and her family. Chris was a big man with personality and heart to match.
Chris was predeceased by his grandparents Jim and Roseline Labossiere, and Ted and Olive Jones.
He will be missed by his parents Marcelle Labossiere and Lance Beswick, and Doug and Julie Jones; by his sister and family Angela and Phil Ibbotson and Logan, Abby and Maddy; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A family memorial service will take place in the coming days.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca) – Donations/In Memory.
We are so very sorry for your loss. Our deepest condolences to Marcelle, Lance and Doug, Julie, and Angela, Phil and family. May your fond memories give you peace and comfort in your sadness.

Khalil Gibran, a famous author wrote these beautiful words about death:
C’est seulement lorsque vous boirez à la rivière du silence que vous chanterez vraiment.
Et quand vous aurez atteint le sommet de la montagne, vous commencerez enfin à monter.
Et lorsque la terre réclamera vos membres, alors vous danserez vraiment.

We were saddened to learn of Chris’s passing. He was so loved. And you were all so blessed to have him in your lives. Please accept our most sincere condolences. – Jodine and Rob, and family.
Chris and I went to school together in Saskatoon and we shared the same birthday. We enjoyed sending each other birthday messages every year, Chris’ messages were always much wittier then mine. My sincere condolences to his family.
I am so sorry to hear of Chris’ passing. I went to school with Chris. I will never forget that infectous laugh and smile. Always counted in Chris for a joke here and there.
Chris was, and will forever be, a gem. He and I bonded in the summer of 1991 on AIL at Camp John Bosco. I went to camp that year unsure of myself and nervous about the new experience. Chris was the guy that made me smile and laugh. He helped me find the fun in adventure and the conquering of the unknown. It is a lesson that has helped to provide me with a happy and exuberant life. I’m heartbroken to know that I will never get to share a laugh or an adventure with him again in this life. I look forward to when we meet in the next.
I have known Chris for almost 30 years. He was always a kind and gentle friend to me. When we would not see each other for a period of time it was like no time had past. From our time at Bosco to growing into our adult years he was always there for me. We had so many adventures planned that we never seemed to find the time for. We always had the best intentions and the best time planning camping and canoe trips that only existed in our imagination. I am so sad to know that those trips will not happen. I am so sorry for your loss. I just wanted you to know the lasting impact Chris had in my life and he will be missed terribly.
Heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your son. We wish you peace and comfort.
Jonesy was one of a kind. I am dumbfounded that he is gone. He was truly a genuine friend. No other person on this earth like him I will remember him always and all the wonderful memories we made while he was working in my home town of Burstall. Please know my thoughts are with his family. I wish I would have known of his passing sooner. RIP DEAR FRIEND
