Alek Papadopoulos
February 16, 1965 - May 8, 2021
It is with deep sadness that the family of Alek Papadopoulos, age 56, announced his sudden passing on May 8, 2021.
He was born on February 16, 1965 in Edmonton to Tina and John Paplos.
Alek loved to love people. For many years, Dad ran the restaurant and was one of the best entertainers hosting the best celebrations. He was known for storytelling, athletic nature, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Alek is survived by his mother, Tina, daughter and son Mia and Yanni, sister Kally, and neice Dina and beautiful grandson, Jack.
A celebration of Alek’s life will be held in Kelowna this summer, date unknown.
I heard about the passing of Alek after trying to track him online. I was shocked and saddened and couldn’t believe what I was reading. I worked for for his parents, Tina and John in Edmonton for years,and Aleko (that’s we called him back then) and I became friends.We celebrated many events together, and went out with bunch of friends. He was a great story and Joke teller. I remember when he met Lenora and later when thay both got married, then seeing his children, Yianni and Maria (Mia) growing. I talked to him on the phone a couple of years ago,and that was the last time I heard from him.
My belate condolences to his family, especially his mom and children.

I’m so sorry for your loss, especially to Tina, Mia and Yanni. I was looking for the correct spelling of Papadopoulos and stumbled on Alek’s obituary.
I remember being at Snow Valley and at the best pizza place in Edmonton! so many times over the years, and seeing the kids growing up. Alek was always so proud of his kids whenever we talked.
My husband Bill, who passed away 3 years ago, loved Alek and his larger-than-life personality. Bill loved it when Alek would come to visit, and they would laugh and tell stories for hours.
